“Endicia DAZzle” button vs. “Endicia Postage” button, what’s the difference?

The “Endicia DAZzle” button is the exact same as the old “Endicia” button in ShipWorks v2.9.x. The “Endicia Postage” button is a new option.

The main difference is that the new “Endicia Postage” button no longer uses the DAZzle program at all to print labels. Endicia Postage connects directly to the Endicia Label Server (ELS) to retrieve labels, very similar to way the FedEx and UPS Labels integrations function. The “Endicia DAZzle” button of course requires ShipWorks to send shipment data to DAZzle, which then connects to Endicia’s system to retrieve/print live postage.

Feature differences below..

Endicia DAZzle

-> ShipWorks exports data to DAZzle, DAZzle connects to Endicia’s systems to retrieve/print labels
-> Printing typically must be configured in both ShipWorks and DAZzle, and can be very frustrating
-> Extremely customizable label layouts, can add images and basically move anything around anywhere
-> Obtaining rates prior to printing your postage labels can only be done in the DAZzle program
-> Can not print a Scan form inside of ShipWorks (believe you can print a scan form from Endicia’s website, endicia.com, for packages processed using DAZzle if you are an Endicia Professional Subscriber, $34.95/mo., currently)
-> Has a “Test Mode” option
-> Doesn’t support the ability to print a label + packing slip or invoice on a single “2 up” sheet of paper

Endicia Postage

-> ShipWorks doesn’t use Endicia’s DAZzle application in any fashion, ShipWorks connects directly to the Endicia Label Server (ELS) to retrieve/print labels
-> Printing configuration only needed in ShipWorks, much easier to configure vs. DAZzle
-> Allows basically zero label layout customization, still supports multiple reference fields, but the font/size/location can not be adjusted for these fields
-> Obtaining rates prior to printing your postage labels can be done directly in ShipWorks
-> New Endicia Scan form can be printed directly inside of ShipWorks for all labels printed using “Endicia Postage” (note, labels printed with “Endicia DAZzle” button will not be visible on this report)
-> Doesn’t have a “Test Mode”
-> Supports the ability to print a label + packing slip or invoice on a single “2 up” sheet of paper
-> Ability to buy/add additional postage directly in ShipWorks!

This is about all I can think of at the moment, will update if more details surface.

How can one edit the label using the later part, Endicia Postage for Rubber Stamp use.

Because when selecting Endicia Postage, there are 4 rubber stamp fields available, but then how do we know which labels have rubber stamps, or how can we set one up to show where that rubber stamp should be printed.

In other words, what program can one use to open the labels with, edit (need code for Rubber Stamps), save it, and have it print with the correct stamps?

Thanks again!

-> I believe that all Rubber stamps should be compatible with all labels using Endicia Postage. Meaning, if you have output in all 4 boxes in ShipWorks, all that output should show up somewhere on your label.

-> You could put the following examples in your Rubber Stamps, or in Preferences Defaults to auto put in newly downloaded orders by default..

Rubber Stamp 1: {//Order/Number}
Rubber Stamp 2: <xsl:for-each select="//Order/Item">({Quantity}) - {Name}, </xsl:for-each>
Rubber Stamp 3: {//Order/Item/Name}
Rubber Stamp 4: <xsl:for-each select="//Order/Item">({SKU}) - {Code}, </xsl:for-each>

-> One of the negatives of the Endicia Postage option is that the labels are in no way customizable. There is no way to open up the labels and edit layout like in DAZzle. There is no way to move the location of the Rubber Stamp fields, they go where Endicia puts them, no way to adjust the font. Their label server provides the format.

Is there a noticeable difference in speed? Does Endicia Postage return significantly faster than DAZzle?

That's really a good question that I do not have an answer for.

Anyone here who has processed tons of labels with both who can speak from experience?

We are finding the printing to be considerably faster with almost no lag between labels.

I need some Help!

After I add all the stamps

Rubber Stamp 1: {//Order/Number}
Rubber Stamp 2: <xsl:for-each select="//Order/Item">({Quantity}) - {Name}, </xsl:for-each>
Rubber Stamp 3: {//Order/Item/Name}
Rubber Stamp 4: <xsl:for-each select="//Order/Item">({SKU}) - {Code}, </xsl:for-each>

My shipping label from "Endicia Postage" doesn't show any info from the "Rubber Stamps".

Do I need to edit the "Endicia Label" Template?

Thanks a lot!
