Be able to validate addresses (UPS and USPS) in the Edit Customer mode BEFORE they go to label printing. This is especially important as we could do this as the order comes in and therefore have time to contact the customer if necessary. As it is, we don't know until much later in the day if there will be a problem or not.
Map address from Edit Customer Screen (open in Google Maps).
Move Database management off of the ribbon for all users except the admin.
Put Address above History in Edit Order Screen. Why does History come before Address in this screen? I ALWAYs click on the wrong button. It's counter-intuitive to put History above Address.
Ability to copy customer address to clipboard (in comma delimited format)
Ability to save searches (Canned Searches)
Backup and restoration of templates!!! (or at least export of templates to textfile)
Versioning of templates.
Ability to check template syntax before saving the template (as in SW2).
Conversion of customer fields entered in ISO-8859-[X] and Windows-1250 through 1253 to UTF-8 (e.g., é --> é, etc.)
User initiated macros / Actions (e.g., Change Amazon shipping "Shipping" to "UPS Ground," etc.)
New Amazon orders should by default have the shipping method set to the Requested Shipping method. Simply "Shipping" does no one any good. |

Some great ideas in there.
Google Maps integration is something we'd love to see -- We use street view to judge the neighborhood for high dollar orders sometimes.
Versioning of templates is one I know I would benefit from a lot. Right now I have a folder dedicated to backups and it gets to be a mess quickly.
As far as checking the syntax goes, use the preview tab. You don't have to hit save until after you have previewed the template and if the change isn't what you wanted, you can always hit cancel and discard all changes since the last save. A really nice feature if you just want to do a quick tweak for your eyes only. The syntax button in SW2 was nice, but I prefer the ability to preview the entire template before saving since you can break things while having the proper syntax.
Handling extended character sets and poor character encoding would be something that everyone would love I think, but as best I can tell, ShipWorks handles it perfectly and detecting and fixing dirty data is really, really hard. |

| I didn't know that going to the Preview tab would cause a syntax check. Thanks for pointing that out. |
