How to Continue Shipping While Migrating Magento Go & ProStores

Earlier this month, Magento announced that Magento Go and ProStores will no longer be available after February 1, 2015. Magento has helpful migrating information on their site, and we’re here to help you keep shipping with ease during the transition. Here are a few helpful tips:

1. Adding a new store in ShipWorks is easy. Once you migrate from Magento Go or ProStores to a new platform, you will need to add your new store to ShipWorks. Then, cancel your existing Magento Go account and disable (not delete) Magento Go or ProStores from ShipWorks.

2. You won’t loose your selling history and customer information (unless you want to). ShipWorks stores your sales and customer info, so you’ll keep that information in ShipWorks regardless of the new platform you transition to. The exception to this is if you delete your Magento Go or ProStore. If you want to keep your data, disable your store, don’t delete it.

3. Your shipping process will stay the same. One of our goals is to give customers a similar shipping experience across multiple platforms. Once you set up your new store, your filters and rules can mirror what you have now. This means you don’t have to relearn how to ship.

4. Plan ahead! Remember, this transition comes immediately after the holiday rush. Decide now if you want to migrate your system before or after the holidays. If you need help, contact us. We’re here to help and we have free support.
