Customer Success Story: Simpson Cycles
We have the best customers and we feature them regularly. Are you a ShipWorks customer and do you have a story to share? We want to hear from you!
Love to ride? The team at SimpsonCycles.com does and they’ve turned a passion for sportbikes and motorcycles into a successful online business. We spoke with owner Alden Simpson to learn more about the company and why they use ShipWorks.
Who is SimpsonCycles.com?
SimpsonCycles.com is a retailer of used sportbike and motorcycle parts, clean title frames and guaranteed-to-run motors and engines for all late model sport bike motorcycles. Simpson Cycles helps their customers avoid expensive dealer prices, by providing quality parts for less. They were founded in 2003 and are located in Duncan, South Carolina.
What was life like before ShipWorks?
“I’ve been using ShipWorks since 2006,” said Alden. “Back then, we sold a lot on eBay and we would print labels individually with PayPal. ShipWorks is much better than our old processes, and saves us a lot of time.”
What’s your favorite ShipWorks feature?
“I think one of the best features is the ability to make custom reports,” said Alden. “Since the final step for all of our sales is shipping, it’s nice to be able to capture all of the data from our different stores and have it in one report. Without this feature, I would have to look at numbers from three sites and try to aggregate it together. ShipWorks makes it easy since I can run a report with any field I need.”
“Another nice thing is that ShipWorks is intuitive. That makes it very easy to train people,” said Alden. “I set everything up and trained the first few people, and after that new employees have been able to learn the software with training from existing employees. With Simpson Cycles being a technology-driven internet business, I usually have to train employees myself. Shipworks is user-friendly enough that I don’t have to get involved in the training, which saves me time and money.”
