CrazyDogTshirts.com is a novelty t-shirt shop created in 2004 by founder Bill Kingston in his college dorm room. He started by selling 5-6 simple screen-printed designs as a final project for an e-Commerce class, and when the orders kept rolling in after graduation, Bill kept printing!
Today, CrazyDogTshirts.com is a multi-million dollar business operating out of a 7,000-square-foot warehouse in Rochester, New York. They employ nearly 20 full time and part time employees, and operate 11 online stores out of three separate platforms. CrazyDogTshirts.com began by operating on the Magento platform and shortly thereafter opened up stores on Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Sears.com, Newegg.com, Rakuten.com (formerly Buy.com), and others. They manage all of these through ChannelAdvisor and ship through ShipWorks.
“Before using ShipWorks we were copying and pasting the addresses for each order in to Endicia’s DAZzle software. This was a slow, time consuming process that would take one person almost a full day to fill our orders, which at the peak before ShipWorks was about 300 per day, and close to 500 on Mondays,” said Amy.
Since ShipWorks is integrated with over 40 marketplaces, it makes it easy for customers to batch process shipments and automate tasks like printing, emailing and updating the online status of their orders.
“ShipWorks transformed our shipping process. What used to take 8-10 hours a day has been streamlined to only 1-2 hours at most,” said Amy. “We can do bulk printing for all 11 stores in one shot, so it’s easier on our Shipping Department. After implementing ShipWorks we can easily print packing slips and shipping labels for 1000+ orders a day on off peak months (3000+ during peak holiday periods) in just a few hours, which allows us to get most orders out the door the next business day.”
