ShipWorks Introduces Tokenized Fields for Dynamic Third-Party Billing

We are excited to announce a significant update to ShipWorks that will revolutionize how drop shippers, warehouse shippers, and 3PL companies manage third-party billing for their shipments. Our latest enhancement tokenizes the FedEx and UPS third-party billing account number and postal code fields, allowing these values to be dynamically populated using order data.

Simplifying Third-Party Billing for Drop Shippers

Drop shippers often face the challenge of billing a large volume of orders to various third-party accounts, sometimes where each order is potentially unique. Previously, this required configuring shipping rules and profiles uniquely by manually coding each third-party billing account number and postal code. With the new tokenized fields, ShipWorks eliminates this complexity and allows the third-party billing information to be automatically populated using information that is imported with each order.

Example of How It Works

Order Import: Your orders import into ShipWorks from your chosen data source (e.g., ODBC, File Import, Shopify, etc.) and the UPS/FedEx third-party billing account number and postal code are imported along with each order, for example, perhaps using CustomField1 and CustomField2.

In our below example, example order 1-M, the UPS shipper account number ABC123 is present in CustomField1, and 78731 is the associated postal code available in CustomField2.

Token Configuration: Configure the third-party billing account number and postal code fields with tokens in your UPS/FedEx profile(s) to automatically extract the values from CustomField1 and CustomField2.

Demonstrated in the below screenshot for our example scenario.
