As a high-volume shipper, your current process for organizing, cataloging, and queuing shipments might be tedious and time-consuming. ShipWorks exists to eliminate the struggle of high volume shipping for you, providing intuitive software that makes tasks such as printing bulk labels fast and painless. ShipWorks integrates your entire shipping pipeline from end to end so that you never miss a beat, and built-in tools such as the ShipSense AI automatically detect issues in your orders and reduce human error. ShipWorks is the best tool for businesses fulfilling in large quantities as it was built with high-volume shippers in mind.
Why ShipWorks for Mass Label Printing
When you’re evaluating options to help streamline your shipping processes, you need to consider which will best facilitate the ultimate desired outcome: shipping more products and thereby generating more revenue. Everything within the ShipWorks platform was built with this end goal front and center. The benefits of ShipWorks software boil down to four key features:
In the below sections, we’ll discuss each of these in-depth.
Everything in ShipWorks was designed with automation as an underlying principle. Especially in high-volume shipping, time equals money, and seemingly small inefficiencies in processes can compound into significant losses in revenue down the line. In ShipWorks, everything can be processed in batches, from products to orders to shipping labels. ShipWorks automatically manages your associated inventory every time you make a change and allows you to easily create bundles as well as product variants. Barcode usage integrates natively into the software so that you can rapidly scan products and have your inventory updated accordingly. From there, you can create wholesale printed labels. You can then ship orders using predefined rules, or you can let ShipWorks do the heavy lifting by routing orders automatically based on warehouse location, product inventory, SKUs, or marketplace rules.
When working at shipping high volumes of product there’s a lot at stake, so security controls and features are of the utmost importance in your shipping software, especially when working on mass label printing. ShipWorks has you covered here. Data backups are performed routinely to the location of your choosing, and you can automatically schedule them to occur at your desired time interval. Permission controls are front and center, allowing you to add user roles and set fine-grained permissions for each. Data is all stored locally on your hard drive so that you’re not vulnerable to cloud server hacks, and this has a nice bonus of making all interactions with the database much faster than they would be if data was stored online. Finally, ShipWorks provides robust auditing tools which let you trace user actions and behavior in case of a security concern or a mistake that needs to be addressed. This includes actions such as creating shipping labels and assigning them to order.
ShipWorks software is fully desktop-based and runs entirely on your local machine. While this may seem “old school” to some, it is actually an intentional choice that provides key benefits to high-volume shippers. When you’re moving vast volumes of product, every second counts and you don’t want to allow yourself to be vulnerable to internet outages or cloud service downtimes. Even on a good day, internet connection speeds can be variable and many other cloud shipping tools throttle you by placing batch processing limits on your account. Since ShipWorks runs locally, it suffers from none of these limits. With ShipWorks you can print in batches of unlimited size and run as many orders as you’d like. You’re only limited by the processing power you provide.
You’re probably well aware of the issues associated with selling on multiple online platforms. Etsy, eBay, Amazon, and Shopify – regardless of the provider, each has its own quirks and processes. Getting them to integrate properly can be a nightmare on the best of days. While we can’t help you with the selling side of things, you can at least rest assured that ShipWorks integrates with all of these platforms and many more! That means that regardless of where you sell your product, your shipping process will be uniform. When an order is created, irrespective of where it is created, it will be logged in a consistent way within the ShipWorks system. That means that you can execute bulk labels printing for all your orders, even if those orders occurred across multiple platforms. ShipWorks also makes order fulfillment easy, integrating with all of the major providers such as UPS, USPS, and FedEx. Check our website for the full list!
Bulk Label Printing with ShipWorks – How it works
Bulk shipping was designed and optimized for speed and simplicity. You’ll no longer have to click into each individual order to purchase a shipping label. Instead, you’ll be able to do everything right from your orders list.
Here’s how it works:
1. Select the orders for which you would like to batch process shipping labels. The easiest way to select multiple orders in ShipWorks is to check the box to the left of each order you wish to select. If you want to select all orders, press CTRL+A on your keyboard.
2. Click on the Home tab and then on the Ship Orders button.
You could also right-click on a select order and select Ship Orders or click on the large Ship Orders button located in the Shipping panel.
3. Shipments for each order selected will now display in the Shipments pane of the Ship Orders screen. You now have the option to select a single shipment for which to modify the shipping details or you can select multiple orders and modify the shipment details for all of the selected orders at the same time.
Modifying Shipment Details – One Shipment at a Time
a. Select the shipment from the Shipments page.
b. Then, modify the desired shipping details for the selected shipment.
Modifying Shipment Details – Multiple Shipments at the Same Time
a. Select the shipments from the Shipping pane that you wish to modify. You can select all of the shipments by pressing CTRL+A or you can select noncontiguous shipments by holding CTRL while clicking on the shipments.
b. Then, modify the desired shipping details for the selected shipments. With multiple orders selected, the details of the shipment will be updates for all of the selected orders.
